The Sid Miller Dance Band Reaches a Milestone

In reflecting back on my 25 years as band leader of the Sid Miller Dance Band (prior to joining BVT in 2006, the Sid Miller Orchestra), I realize that if it weren't for the assistance of some key individuals, I wouldn't have experienced the high degree of success and reputation that my band has develped.

First and foremost, I want to thank all of the over 700 clients that have hired my band to peform for their special celebration.
Of course, the many fantastic artists that I have had the fortune to attract to be part of my band have been a constant since I started the band. Their musicianship and dedication made it possible for me to keep my band in the forefront of the upscale private party circuit.

However, there have been some very important persons who have worked with me in the background. Their support, expertise and encouragement have helped me immeasurably. Eddie Davis, my mentor, was the person directly responsible for me starting my band. He also guided me through my first years when, as a novice, I really didn't know the intricacies of conducting the band and working seamlessly in coordinating all the important components to make a party great.

Then there was Bill Beam, who brought me to another level of success with his innovative concept of presenting the bands on a television program in a video format. Because of Bill's creativity and innovative thinking my band started working more and more.  Cortez "Reno" Brokenbrough was also a key player in my development.

Cortez helped me in developing all my websites, advertisements, brouchures, and along with Eddie Davis advised me along the many obstacles that I faced in the develpoment of the band. Cortez, being a computer genius, also was there for me when I needed his help whenever I had computer issues.

I also want to thank Kurt Titchenell, the head of BVT. I interviewed many agencies when I decided after 19 years that I didn't want to sell or market my band any longerbecause I wanted to concentrate on the music that we peformed and work more closely with my clients who hired my band. After months of speaking with the owners of each agency in the circuit, I felt that BVT was the right choice for me. BVT is a tremendous organization, and I'm glad I made the decision to join forces with Kurt, and his great staff - Dave, Bill, Erica and Drew.

I also want to thank all of the banquet managers, event planners, phographers and videographers who recommended my band. The synergy that has developed between us has helped immeasurably in my band's success.

My first 25 years as a band leader of the Sid Miller Dance Band have flown by, and I'm looking forward to many more years of exciting and memorable parties that I have the pleasurable opportunity to create.
