Swing Easy

Very much like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, and the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Swing Easy was a part of the big band and swing revival of the '90's in the Philadelphia region.  What set them apart stylistically was an ear for the authentic Rat Pack and Basie sounds of the '40's thru the mid '60's.

Formed in Philadelphia in 1997, the group built up a following with regular gigs at the Five Spot, Penn's Landing, and park concerts in the region, as well as private events.  The ability to play everything from jazz to retro pop to swing with ensembles ranging in size from 8 to 19 pieces as well as put on shows in the style of Harry Connick, Jr. and Michael Buble makes them the perfect fit for any event.

The band roster is composed of the very best jazz musicians and vocalists in the region, each of whom is a leader and recording artist in their own right.  The performance credits of these musicians includes every major venue from Washington, D.C. To New York City.  Unlike other bands that try to be all things for all people, Swing Easy aspires to be the best jazz/swing band in the region.  Lou Lanza, the leader and male vocalist, will work with each client to develop a set list or show that suits your event and audience, careful to include special requests and any new material that may be desired.  Lou is one of the best in the business at creating wonderful events filled with classic ambiance, atmosphere, and phenomenal music for listening and dancing.
