City Rhythm has been dazzling audiences for many years with a distinctive style and sound. Their stellar horns, rockin' rhythm section, and talented vocalists create extraordinary music and fabulous events. Under the direction of Pete Spina and Nick Vallerio, the band's professionalism and love of music shines brighter than the rest. They've been recognized with many music awards including "Best of Philly" and "Best of Main Line".
The depth of City Rhythm's thousand-tune play list is truly astounding and covers all styles of music, from classic American standards to the greatest rock hits of our time. Lead singers Steve Ritrovato, Vicki Woodlyn, and Rick Cox add a special quality to the group with their versatility and dynamic range. Rave reviews from client's who've experienced the band's magic have earned City Rhythm a reputation as one of the top party bands on the scene today.
In planning your special occasion, Pete and Nick will work to develop a play list that suits your specific taste and style, including your special requests and any new material desired. They're well known as band leaders who bring a tremendous amount of energy and innovation to the entertainment business, creating wonderful events of unforgettable listening and dancing.
City Rhythm’s performance credits include an incredible list of venues and occasions. They have entertained at weddings and corporate events in every major hotel, country club and music venue in the mid-Atlancic region, including Philadelphia, Atlantic City, New York, and Washington DC. They’ve played for Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell at the Governor's Ball, Former President George H. Bush at the Eisenhower Fellowship Award Gala, Bon Jovi at the premier of his Philadelphia Soul arena football team and the Phillies at several special occasions in Philadelphia and Clearwater. The band has also presented shows at distinguished venues such as Lincoln Center in New York, the Kimmel Center and Mann Music Center in Philadelphia, the Taj Mahal and other casinos in Atlantic City, and many others.
City Rhythm's extraordinary music and strong reputation has also drawn them outside the area for performances across the country in locales such as Providence, Boston, Tampa, Sarasota, San Francisco, Napa, and other cities and resorts. The band has also played internationally and recently completed two successful tours of Italy, with shows at the Grand Hotel Vittoria in the heart of Tuscany and at special events in Taormina, Sicily.
The group has produced five highly praised CD's on Limehouse Records including "Goin' to Town" (1994), "Swinging Blue" (1997), "City Rhythm Strikes Again" (1999), "Sounds of Hope" (2001), "Vibrant Tones" (2005), and "Songs You Can Live By - Volumes 1 & 2" (2007). Their music has aired on radio stations across the USA and in Europe. "Songs You Can Live By" is a mix of some of City Rhythm's bet sounds and favorite party music. Complimentary copies are available upon request. Just like a live performance by the band...it's sure to get you dancing!
