Brandywine Valley Talent Band Blogs

Great Start to 2011!

Group Therapy Blog

The beginning of every year usually presents a slow time in the entertainment business. So far 2011 has proven to be the exception. Group Therapy made their first appearance at Hartefeld National on January 29, 2011. The band performed for a member event which according to manager Kelly West, was a huge success. As a result of that performance Group Therapy will be returning to Hartefeld in September 2011 for a private event.

February 2011 also proved to be a rather busy month for the band. In addition to performing at the popular Maryland night spot, the Chesapeake Inn , the band provided entertainment for Delaware Osteopathic Society’s Valentine’s Day event. This year’s party was held at the Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club in Newark, DE. The event marks the sixth time Group Therapy has performed for the Osteopathic Society.

Also in February, Group Therapy had the pleasure of donating their time and talents for a great cause. The 2011 Flyer’s Wives Fight for Lives Carnival was held at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday February 27, 2011. Group Therapy performed at the end of the day after sets by Brandywine Valley Talent’s Back to Life and Jellyroll. It was a very fulfilling day as all of the members of Group Therapy have a strong belief in supporting local communities and great organizations such as those involved with the Flyer’s Wives. Hopefully, along with the next blog we’ll be able to post some photos from the event.

Re-Cap of Group Therapy's 2010 Year

Group Therapy Blog

Welcome to the official first blog entry for long time Delaware area favorite band, Group Therapy. 2010 was a pivotal year for Group Therapy as Brandywine Valley Talent’s Bill McCue introduced the band to a variety of Philadelphia area golf and country clubs including Manufacturer’s Golf Club , Overbrook Golf Club , Springford Country Club , Stonewall , and Waynesborough Country Club . In October, Group Therapy was the headliner at the distinguished Merion Golf Club . The event included other BVT entertainers, such as The Lou Lanza Quartet, The Second Chance Acapella  Group, and solo pianist, Jeremy Sweet. The event was an enormous success and Group Therapy is slated to return to Merion Golf Club in late 2011.

In December of 2010, Group Therapy provided entertainment for the Areva Company’s Holiday party held at the upscale and newly renovated Le Meridien Hotel in center city Philadelphia. Group Therapy performed in the Grand Ballroom of the hotel designed with high ceilings and a great view of City Hall.

The year was finished off by a highly successful New Year’s Eve event at the Old York Country Club in Spring House, PA. Club manager, Joe Wurtz, and his crew planned a memorable event and Group Therapy had patrons on the dance floor all night.

Looking ahead, 2011 is shaping up to be another great year for Group Therapy. The band is already looking forward to performing at a growing number of private events as well as at several public venues including the Philadelphia Flyers' Wives' Carnival and the extremely popular Wilmington Italian Festival.
