NACE: Destination Success

BVT Blog

BVT was proud to attend the NACE: Destination Sucess meeting at Green Valley Country Club this past Tuesday.  It was a pleasure to see lots of familiar faces, especially those we hadn't seen in a while.

Attendees were treated to some amazing fare provided by Green Valley Country Club .  The exemplary catering staff also provided stellar butlered hors d'oeuvres    Di Bruno Bros. also had a spread of gourmet cheeses which added variety to an already delicious menu.

After dinner, Video One Productions' Tim Sudall gave an informative presentation about how to stay on the forefront of the industry.  He covered customer service tips for the modern industry, as well as how to stay current with technology that pertains to the catering business.  A clip from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and a PSA from the NACE archive kept the audience engaged and light.

Thanks to Sarah Marquis from Green Valley for putting together such an enjoyable and informative event.  It was a great opportunity for many NACE members to see the property up close and personal for the first time.

BVT was happy to provide musicians and we look forward to the next NACE event.

Thanks to Charlie Peatross from Charles Howard Photography for the great shots of Tony's Trio.

Jellyroll and Midnight Hour Celebrate the Launch of PhiladelphiaGalas.com at Tendenza

BVT Blog

Last night was a great night for BVT and two of our top bands, Jellyroll and Midnight Hour.  Midnight Hour got the event at Tendenza kicked off right.  Jellyroll finished off strong by getting the dancefloor rockin'.

Things got a little testy between one of Jellyroll's vocalists and a guest.

Don't worry.  They made up.

We want to thank Cescaphe Event Group for allowing us to use the beautiful Tendenza.   The h'ors deouvres were amazing and the staff made the night go off smoothly.

We also want to thank everyone who came out to see Jellyroll and Midnight Hour, especially the non-profit and charity event organizers who took time out of their days to see the unveiling of PhiladelphiaGalas.com.  Last night was the first step towards creating a great resource for Philadelphia charities and the people who support them.  If you weren't able to make the event, make sure to visit the site and contact BVT if you work with a charity or non-profit and would like to have your upcoming events listed on PhiladelphiaGalas.com .

Thanks and keep checking in for more BVT news!

BVT Begins 2011 Right!

BVT Blog

It is hard to believe that it is already March, and although we have yet to put away our  Winter coats, Spring is just around the corner.  With the days getting longer , and the snow now melting away, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on BVT’s accomplishments of this relatively new year.

The BVT staff and our great bands have already delivered 3 great showcases since January 1st, with much success.  Thanks to all of our attendees, especially our new BVT clients that have chosen their dance band at one of our showcases .  Of course, we appreciate our staff and bands’ efforts and would also like to thank the great staff at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Valley Forge .  The Crowne Plaza Valley Forge is a world class hotel, and always a pleasure to visit, as well as to do business with.

Contagious performing at a BVT Showcase

Our winter schedule has been full of beautiful weddings, fun Mitzvahs,  and classy corporate events. BVT bands have also had the opportunity to give back to the community by performing at many amazing galas and fundraisers, such as Strangers ’ encore appearance at Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s Lemon Ball , Midnight Hour ’s encore performance for the American Cancer Society , Contagious ’ third performance at the newly named “For Pete’s Sake” (formerly Crossing the Finish Line) Gala and Jellyroll ’s performances at The Philadelphia Auto Show ’s Black Tie Preview Gala, The Canuso Foundation 2011 Gala , The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau ’s “Tom Muldoon’s Field Of Dreams” Benefit.  Jellyroll also performed, along with Back2Life and Group Therapy, on the main stage at the 34th Annual Philadelphia Flyers Wives Fight For Lives Carnival at the Wells Fargo center for over 10,000 fans.  BVT is proud to have been the live entertainment sponsor for the Carnival.  Be sure to visit Jellyroll’s invidual band blog for more information on their performances.

Perhaps one of the most memorable events that I, president of BVT, attended as a guest was this year’s National Association of Catering Executives ' “Bring Back The Glamour” Gala.  The gala was held in January in the most amazing multilevel ballrooms built by Eventquip , and under an Eventquip tent, in the Eventquip parking lot (yes, parking lot!) with BVT’s Big Ric Rising entertaining the region’s top hospitality professionals and guests. This event will redefine our industry for years to come.  This was the perfect occasion for BVT to reintroduce Big Ric and his band, now known as Big Ric Rising, to the Philadelphia wedding and event professional community as BVT’s newest dance band!

BVT exclusive bands have certainly had an exciting start to the New Year, but I would be remiss if I did not mention that our Inspired Emotions team, led by Lou Lanza, has been busy entertaining at many industry and social events as well.  Inspried Emotions musicians have appeared at the Phoenixville Foundry , The Radisson Warwick , and many private clubs including Chester Valley Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club .  Lou and the Inspired Emotions team also performed for MPI at a networking event.  Thanks to Lou for all of his efforts!!

In addition to all of these wonderful events, the BVT team undertook a major new film project.  With the direction of Tim Sudall of Video One , and in conjunction with Eventions Productions and West Chester University , we conducted a 6 camera, high-def filming of our dance bands at West Chester University’s beautiful new Swope Performing Art Center’s Madeline Adler Theater.  Thanks to everyone involved, especially Bob Rust and Scott Davis from West Chester University, Gabe from Philip Gabriel Photography , our sound techs, Fred Beckel and Joe Carola, as well as Tim Sudall, Nik Yurkovsky and the rest of the Video One team.  The new BVT band films will be appearing soon on our web site.
