Magnificent in Maryland

June 26th marked the occasion of Christine Bunting and Hanlon Harris in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina.  Back2Life made the the trip down to the Eastern Shore to provide ceremony and reception entertainment for this great couple.  John, Neil and Marci provided music and vocals for the ceremony, which was outside on the lawn of this magnificent hotel.  After the ceremony, we moved in the Hyatt Ballroom where the reception was held.  It was stunning!  All seven members of Back2Life were with us for the reception and the band sounded and looked terrific on the big stage.

It was a real thrill to be at the Hyatt and serenade this amazing couple and their guests!

Congratulations and Thanks Chris and Hank!!!

Here are some pics taken by the band.  Keep checking back for professional pictures from this great event.

Big Band Wedding

On May 30th, Back2Life prepared a special set of Big Band music for the Wedding reception of Megan Grosky and Dr. Brian McGowan at the Blue Bell Country Club.  Megan's father was a very successful drummer and the Big Band music was a request of the couple to honor Megan's Dad.  Both Megan and Brian were right up front most on the night singing and dancing with the band and all their wonderful guests.  This was a great event and a perfect Sunday evening for this wedding celebration!   Congrats Megan and Brian from Back2Life!

New Faces and Fun Times!

On May 22nd, Back2Life played an over the top wedding reception for an amazing couple - Damian and Maura at the Dolce Valley Forge Hotel

Damian and Maura's Wedding brought family and friends from all over the globe.  Guests came from all over America, Ireland, and Canada.  All of these different guests from different places equaled a whole lot of diverse and exciting fun!  During the course of the night we had a dance floor full of Mummers, a dance floor full of Irish Reel dancers, (which was AWSOME!) and a dance floor with not one more square foot of available space!  This was a Wedding where once the party started, it never ended.

Damian and Maura's wedding night was a special night for the Back2Life.  We added a new seventh member to our lineup.  Tina is an extremely talented and versatile musician and vocalist.  She added trumpet to Neil's' sax parts.  She played bass so I could go out and front some songs.  Tina sang a couple of leads and played some key parts to boot. With this new addition,  Back2life has increased versatility and energy. We all felt it and loved it!  Welcome Tina.

At the end of the night a very unusual song request came from Damian. Maura and he are huge Rush fans and a number of his guests are from Canada (where RUSH is from). He asked us to play Tom Sawyer, (big hit for Rush in the 80's), in its entirety. Well we did, and it brought the house down!  Playing this song may be a one time thing for Back2Life,  but it was a really cool opportunity and I thank Damian for insisting we accommodate his request. You rock!

It was a great night for Back2Life and one we will always remember with great fondness.

Thanks a million Damian and Maura. We wish all the best in your lives together.

Kurt

Breath of Spring Gala

On May 21st, Back2Life was honored to be a repeat performer for the American Lung Assoc. of Delaware's "Breath of Spring" Gala.

The event this year was held at Wilmington Golf and Country Club.  This was the first time Back2Life had played the club and what else can we say but - what a pristine golf course and what a beautiful venue!  Sue DeNardo was terrific to work with and took very good care of us. Thank you Sue.

We saw our friend Ann Glass, who was very instrumental with our hiring for last year's Gala.  Just like last year, Ann was the last one on the dance floor!  It was a great time for great cause. We were glad to have been a part of it.

A Lifetime of Happiness

What else can we say, but, the Love of a Lifetime Wedding was over the top! The focus of the event was to make everything perfect and to throw one terrific party! Everyone involved did a great job to create an amazing day for Faye and Matt.

When we arrived at the Seaport Museum, the room was already bursting with energy. The main reception area was absolutely beautiful. We were greeted by a very busy Kelly from Culinary Concepts. She was an absolute treat to work with....Thank You Kelly.

After a beautiful ceremony officiated by Mayor Nutter, it was time to dance!

Faye was all smiles during her first dance with Matt. I was impressed with Matt's grace and agility. He even dipped her. Good job Matt.

We jumped right into high energy dance music and the party started in earnest. Kendall from Eclatante kept things moving along on schedule.

The party ended with fireworks and a video of Matt and Faye's journey to this wonderful wedding day. We played "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey as our last song and had a room full of festive party guests signing along.

An emotional Faye and Matt thanked everyone who helped make this all possible and gave out lots of hug and kisses.

This was a great experience for the members of Back2life and we feel very lucky to have been involved. Thank you Faye and Matt. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Kurt

A Day at the Drexelbrook

Back2life made a day of it at Drexelbrook Catering and Banquet Facility on Saturday, April 24th.

At 3pm,  Mark, Marci and Neil, provided ceremony and cocktail music for Abi Diaro and Kokou Etou in the middle ballroom.  It was a very lovely service…Followed by a cocktail hour in the main lobby.

At 6pm,  John and Neil provided piano and sax music for Tracey and Gregs cocktail hour in  the main lobby. At 7 the party started in earnest with a very spirited  and  energetic newly married couple. They were introduced to music by the band Rancid,  and immediately started ska dancing. It set the tone for a wonderful night……

Special thanks to Bill, Justin, and Jessica at Drexelbrook for help keeping our busy day moving right along seamlessly.

Very special thanks to photographer Al Filippone for the pictures of us and of Tracey leading the dancers. It was a GREAT night.

Thank you Tracey and Greg for including us in your big day!!!

Back2life blog: Meals on Wheels event (Evening with the Masters) April 16th

Back2life performed at the awesome Chase Arts Center on Friday April 16th for the Meals on Wheels (Evening with the Masters) charity event.

This was the second year in a row we were invited to donate time to this great cause. We were given a large stage, with terrific sound and lights, to perform on. Thank you Bill Heyward for a great mix! We started the evening with our acoustic guitars and trio material and then brought out the full six piece band for two dance sets. The food at the event was wonderful! Melinda Hamilton took great care of us and made sure we ate well.....and we did.

It was a lot fun for the band and all that attended and supported this cause.

Let Them Eat Cake

On Monday April 12th, we  performed at the lovely Loews Hotel in Philadelphia Pa. for the City of Hope Charity event titled (Let Them Eat Cake).

It was the second year in a row we were asked to be included in this event. We started the night off with a set of our acoustic trio material and then brought the full six piece band up to give the audience a chance to dance off some of the absolutely magnificent cakes that were there to be devoured…And they were.

It was a room full of cakes, chefs, musicians, photographers, and very warm and generous people supporting a great cause.

Special thanks to Harry Giordano from City of Hope and Mark Kingsdorf of Queen of Hearts Event Planning
